This Bernardet C50 is located in Brighton, UK. It’s the only one in the country.
Though it needs going over mechanically, it’s an amazing machine with amazing ‘patina.’
There are very few vintage scooters with designs as over-the-top as this.
Another cultural icon, this time a French one.
The Bernardet is an absolute classic in France but, once again, is not well-known in the UK. Bernardet sold more C50’s than their other models, so it’s a practical one to own and spares can still be found.
Again, not at all happy to be selling it, and I paid good money for it so I will not give it away; but got to sell some to keep the others.
I bought this scoot from a guy who’s well-known in the vintage scene in France. His name is Jean-Do and he’s one of the country’s top vehicle artists. This is not the original Rene Ricard Bordeaux rally Bernardet; but it has been painted (superbly, in my opinion) to look like the original, unrestored race machine.
When I bought it he told me the engine is smokey. I’ve not fired it up. I intended to do whatever work was necessary on the engine and use it this summer. But life has intervened. It has not yet been seen in the UK: it will now have to make its debut with a new owner.
