They’re great little mopeds, these old Raleighs. I owned one in the early 1970’s when I had to commute between Taunton and the middle of the Devon countryside. In true moped tradition, it often broke down and in the end I left it in a hedge near the Wellington monument and walked home.
This one is registered APN 116H and has a V5C registration document. The MOT expired recently, but it’s still taxed until 31st May 2008. It shouldn’t need much to pass its MOT again.
When I bought this Raleigh, it only had its old style logbook (retained and included in the sale). I obtained a dating certificate and MOT’d it and got it registered at the DVLA. Since doing whatever it needed for MOT a few years ago it has been ridden only a few miles since.
The moped is in good original condition as you can see from the photos.
Once you’ve serviced it (always necessary if not used for over a month) it should provide you with faithful service either as a local runaround or for runs and rallies in the summer.
I’m selling it because I’ve since bought a much more expensive restored one.
